In 1978, a young Australian surfer founded the UGG brand on the shores of Southern California. With his Australian roots, he had a strong love for sheepskin and was convinced that one day the world would share this love. By the mid-1980s, the UGG label had become symbolic of Southern California's relaxed attitude. The brand was gaining popularity through surf shops all along the coast of California.
UGG entered the world of New York Fashion in the 2000's and beyond, evolving from boots and slippers to trendy, luxury items that appeared the pages of Vogue.
In 2006, UGG opened its very first boutique in Soho, making its imprint on the global fashion capital. New York was the ideal location for the brand's first signature store, providing customers with a powerful physical expression of the brand and a place where customers could experience the full scope of the line.
In 2008, UGG opened shops in London's Westfield and Convent Garden, expanding the brand internationally and giving consumers in the UK the opportunity to experience UGG firsthand. Also in 2006, UGG opened its first shop in Omotesando Hills, Japan, setting the stage for international growth.
The brand has since grown into a global lifestyle brand known for its iconic Classic boot. This boot grew up on the feet of many a Hollywood star and quickly conquered the world. Since then, UGG has expanded its portfolio to include apparel, accessories and home furnishings, all with a focus on creativity, quality and craftsmanship.
"Bold, provocative, free-spirited, optimistic and real, that's what the brand stands for and embraces those who don't let convention define them."
Materials and Craftsmanship of UGG
Since 1978, UGG has stood for craftsmanship and the use of the finest materials. From A-grade sheepskin to premium leather, all materials are carefully selected and processed with advanced technology and precision. This expertise provides distinctive comfort with a touch of West Coast flair; let the relaxed Californian glamour and comfort of UGG convince you.
UGG uses only the finest, highest quality sheepskin in the world. Each fleece is subjected to a meticulous process to ensure it offers the signature UGG experience. When sourcing the features double-sided sheepskin, UGG strives for uniformity and a perfect, fine-grained texture. On the wool side, the fleece must stand up evenly across the entire piece. At six different points in the process, UGG selects based on these criteria to ensure that only the highest quality sheepskin makes it through the selection process. UGG maintains consistently high standards regarding animal welfare and transparency of material sourcing.
The UGG EnerG System insoles make walking barefoot feel almost like walking barefoot. It uses micro-pod technology, which combines soft foam with polyurethane midsoles for ultimate cushioning. The upper is made of breathable, moisture-wicking, and antimicrobial open-cell foam, while the underlay maintains its shape throughout the life of the shoe, for a support you won't find anywhere else.
UGG slippers are the essential slippers for at home. The slippers are made of soft suede and have a delightfully soft wool lining. The sheepskin collar provides even more comfort and warmth to the foot. The outsole is made from rubber. Comfortable, yet chic are the characteristics that perfectly match the slippers by UGG, making your relaxing day at home even more enjoyable.
The classic model from UGG is a must-have in your wardrobe. Today's classics are the same as the ones we know, but with a new look. Thanks to the double-sided sheepskin and suede you will never have cold feet again this winter. The shoes are now also stain- and water-resistant, and thanks to a lightweight sole, you get more cushioning, solidity and grip. Go out in comfort and style with UGG shoes!
